Salaam!

I am Leyla Koury, a Tunisian-American single mother determined to provide my daughter a stable, interest-free home in the heart of New York City. Amidst skyscrapers and subways, my search is for a dwelling that mirrors our faith and hope.

The Beginnings:

Raising Yasmeen alone in Staten Island, I've felt the weight of admiration and critique. I've juggled roles, from a dedicated mother to a hardworking professional, always with the dream of securing a stable, halal home for us.

The Vision:

I envision a sanctuary where my child's laughter reverberates, free from the shadows of financial burden. A haven where every corner beams with shared memories and interests doesn't loom over our happiness.

The Journey So Far:

In the city's maze, I've encountered both opportunities and obstacles. While I've found communities that uplift and support, the challenges of securing a riba-free home remain ever-present.

Your Role:

By joining hands with me, you're not just investing in bricks and mortar but helping etch a narrative of resilience and faith. Your support signifies hope for every parent seeking a halal foundation for their loved ones.

Why It Matters:

By championing this cause, we're creating ripples of change in NYC's vast ocean, empowering countless single parents to chase dreams that align with their beliefs, unburdened by the city's daunting costs.

Walk with Me:

I beckon you to be a part of our narrative, a tale of a mother and daughter crafting a future where dreams are not curtailed by circumstances. Together, let's turn aspirations into realities.

Conclusion:

Your empathy and support can redefine what's possible for many like me in this sprawling metropolis. Let's pen a story of faith, courage, and unwavering determination amidst the iconic skyline of NYC.

Warm regards,

Leyla Koury.

Why New York?
Here are the latest trends in the NYC real estate market as well as the statewide market. A prolonged scarcity of properties on the market, along with high prices and high mortgage rates, continues to impede the New York housing market. According to the housing report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS®, the number of properties for sale declined for the 37th straight month in year-over-year comparisons, while mortgage rates remain more than double what they were at this time last year.

The number of available properties for sale fell by 12%, from 40,321 in November 2021 to 36,490 this month. In year-over-year comparisons, the months' supply of dwellings stayed unchanged at 3.2 months. Months' supply is the number of months it would take to sell the present inventory of homes at the current sales rate. A balanced market has a supply of six to six and a half months.
Graph depicting the median sale price trend in New York, NY, from 2018 to 2023. The line graph shows two trends: one for New York with prices fluctuating around $800K, indicated in black, and another for the United States overall, with prices around the $400K mark, shown in orange.
