Naima El Fassi

Greetings and Salaam! I am Naima El Fassi, carrying with me the warm hues of Morocco's souks and the calm serenity of the Atlas Mountains. As I stand amidst the towering skyscrapers of NYC, I'm caught between my dreams of being a dedicated homemaker and the financial hurdles of this vast city.

The Dichotomy:

Back in Marrakech, the rhythmic calls to prayer and familial bonds were painted daily with hues of tradition. In New York, while the skyline dazzles, the absence of my homeland's warmth looms large. The bustle often reminds me of the vibrant Moroccan markets, but the echoing silence of familial distance persists.

My Ambition:

I aspire for a safe space, a home echoing with the laughter of family gatherings, where the aroma of tagines and mint tea fills the air and the principles of Islam guide our daily life. However, the looming shadow of Riba and the city's intimidating costs often dampen this dream.

The Road Ahead:

Harnessing the tenacity of Berber women and the wisdom of the city's diverse Muslim community, I embarked on my journey. Navigating through halal financing and the city's housing maze, I seek a sanctuary that celebrates my Moroccan legacy and my future as a homemaker in NYC.

Your Contribution:

Every tale is a testament to dreams, struggles, and faith. By aiding my journey, you're not just helping construct walls but fostering the spirit of countless women like me, torn between two worlds but resolute in their faith.

Significance:

Your support isn't just financial; it's emotional, spiritual, and transformative. It's a beacon that ensures the richness of our Moroccan heritage remains alive, even amidst the city's concrete jungle.

Join My Expedition:

I invite you into my world, urging you to experience the passion, the challenges, and the aspirations that drive me. With your support, we aren't just building a home but crafting a narrative of resilience, faith, and cultural pride.

Conclusion:

Thank you for being a part of this journey from the heart of a dreamer seeking to reconcile two worlds. Every contribution every prayer, brings me closer to a home that's a true testament to my Moroccan roots and Islamic teachings.

Warmly,

Naima El Fassi.

Why New York?
Here are the latest trends in the NYC real estate market as well as the statewide market. A prolonged scarcity of properties on the market, along with high prices and high mortgage rates, continues to impede the New York housing market. According to the housing report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS®, the number of properties for sale declined for the 37th straight month in year-over-year comparisons, while mortgage rates remain more than double what they were at this time last year.

The number of available properties for sale fell by 12%, from 40,321 in November 2021 to 36,490 this month. In year-over-year comparisons, the months' supply of dwellings stayed unchanged at 3.2 months. Months' supply is the number of months it would take to sell the present inventory of homes at the current sales rate. A balanced market has a supply of six to six and a half months.
Graph depicting the median sale price trend in New York, NY, from 2018 to 2023. The line graph shows two trends: one for New York with prices fluctuating around $800K, indicated in black, and another for the United States overall, with prices around the $400K mark, shown in orange.
