Salaam!

I'm Bilal Khan, a young Muslim deeply embedded in the bustling boroughs of New York City. NYC is not just skyscrapers and broadways; it's a diverse tapestry of Muslim narratives from across the globe. Amidst this vibrant diversity, I am driven by a universal sentiment shared by many of my peers: ensuring our grandparents, the custodians of our rich heritage, are taken care of in their golden years.

The Beginnings:

Growing up in Queens, I was blessed to experience Ramadan potlucks with dishes from Malaysia, Morocco, and everywhere in-between, all at a single table. My grandparents, immigrants from Pakistan, were the pioneers who wove our story into this city's intricate tapestry. Today, their age demands more than just love; it requires a conscious effort to sustain their dignity.

The Vision:

To create a haven for them right here in NYC, where they can relive their memories while staying rooted in the city they now call home. A place that resonates with their identity, values, and the Islamic ethos they've passed down to us.

The Quest Begins:

With an amalgamation of hope and purpose, I turned to Dyur's platform. Their mission to offer Sharia-compliant solutions in a city as diverse as NYC struck a chord with my aspirations. Through crowdfunding, I wish to provide my grandparents, and many others like them, a space they rightfully deserve.

Your Role:

In this concrete jungle, where every story is unique yet intertwined, I seek your support. Together, let's uphold our duty to our elders, ensuring they live their years in comfort, surrounded by NYC's dynamic Muslim community.

Why It Matters:

Imagine a place in the heart of NYC, where our elders can find solace, where every prayer and laugh reverberates the diverse cultures of our Ummah. With Dyur, we're not just funding bricks and walls; we're preserving legacies.

Join My Quest:

Join me, and the countless young Muslims of NYC, as we embark on a mission to give back. Your support is more than monetary; it's a testament to the strength of our community.

Conclusion:

I'm deeply humbled by your support and invite you to be a part of this narrative. Together, let's make NYC not just a melting pot of cultures, but also a sanctuary for those who paved our way.

Jazakallah khair,

Bilal Khan

Why New York?
Here are the latest trends in the NYC real estate market as well as the statewide market. A prolonged scarcity of properties on the market, along with high prices and high mortgage rates, continues to impede the New York housing market. According to the housing report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS®, the number of properties for sale declined for the 37th straight month in year-over-year comparisons, while mortgage rates remain more than double what they were at this time last year.

The number of available properties for sale fell by 12%, from 40,321 in November 2021 to 36,490 this month. In year-over-year comparisons, the months' supply of dwellings stayed unchanged at 3.2 months. Months' supply is the number of months it would take to sell the present inventory of homes at the current sales rate. A balanced market has a supply of six to six and a half months.
Graph depicting the median sale price trend in New York, NY, from 2018 to 2023. The line graph shows two trends: one for New York with prices fluctuating around $800K, indicated in black, and another for the United States overall, with prices around the $400K mark, shown in orange.
