Ayşe & Mehmet

Salaam! I'm Ayşe Yilmaz, a passionate soul from Istanbul, now calling Brooklyn my home. Beside me is my loving husband, Mehmet, hailing from the heart of Turkey. As newlyweds amidst Brooklyn's historic archways and bustling bazaars, we're on a quest to find our harmonious haven—a home that resonates with our intertwined cultures and shared faith.

Our Story:

Brooklyn has been our meeting point, where the aroma of Turkish coffee mingles with the sounds of NYC's vibrant streets. Our love story, while magical, also posed challenges:

  • Merging two distinct life paths
  • Navigating cultural nuances
  • Laying the foundation for our shared future

Why a Halal Home Matters:

As we embark on this marital journey, the significance of a home that aligns with our Islamic values is paramount. Securing a riba-free residence isn't merely about adhering to financial guidelines—it's about creating an environment where our love, traditions, and faith flourish.

Our Dream Nest:

We envision a space in Brooklyn where echoes of the Azan meet the distant sounds of the subway. A home where Turkish delights sit alongside classic American pies and our diverse traditions unite seamlessly. A corner where the two of us can watch the sunset every evening, reminiscing about our homeland while embracing our new life.

Your Role:

We warmly invite you to join our narrative. By supporting our journey, you're aiding us in securing a home and fostering a unique blend of love, faith, and cultural fusion. Your backing is the wind beneath our wings, propelling us towards our halal haven.

The Future We Envision:

In our envisioned halal home, we anticipate nights of shared stories, days of combined traditions, and endless moments of mutual understanding and love. We aspire for a space that's more than just a residence—it's a testament to the beauty of diverse love rooted in faith.

Your Turn:

Embark with us on this love, faith, and fusion journey. Help us pen a new chapter of multicultural harmony in the heart of Brooklyn, all under a riba-free roof.

With heartfelt thanks,

Ayşe & Mehmet.

Why New York?
Here are the latest trends in the NYC real estate market as well as the statewide market. A prolonged scarcity of properties on the market, along with high prices and high mortgage rates, continues to impede the New York housing market. According to the housing report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS®, the number of properties for sale declined for the 37th straight month in year-over-year comparisons, while mortgage rates remain more than double what they were at this time last year.

The number of available properties for sale fell by 12%, from 40,321 in November 2021 to 36,490 this month. In year-over-year comparisons, the months' supply of dwellings stayed unchanged at 3.2 months. Months' supply is the number of months it would take to sell the present inventory of homes at the current sales rate. A balanced market has a supply of six to six and a half months.
Graph depicting the median sale price trend in New York, NY, from 2018 to 2023. The line graph shows two trends: one for New York with prices fluctuating around $800K, indicated in black, and another for the United States overall, with prices around the $400K mark, shown in orange.
